bless the hoover family!
(oh yes and bless us too)

they are as dysfunctional as they are real -
with our society raging towards money and power,
movieland or not, you really believe happy families still exist? -
its a heartwarming film straight from the moment
someone tries to kill himself on the opening scene.
the film progresses smoothly like virgin chocolate
slithering down your throat, with the same bitter centre
and a sweet finish to match.

when little olive needs to travel to california to
participate in the "little miss sunshine" beauty pageant,
the whole family troops in an ancient volkswagen bus
to show support and love despite their jarring differences -
and the person who tried to kill himself earlier,
isn't the person who dies in the end.

check out this film when you have the time,
it's way past its run on sg cinemas..

Our First Training of the Year

Waking up with a hangover and going for training is indeed a mean feat, never to be repeated. Plus, the complete wasted, non-existent muscles, the first fifty strokes were a killer and all i wanted to do was turn to the side and throw up. I bet my face was green! But after a while, it got better and it felt great being in the boat! It wasnt a terribly sunny afternoon but it was gentle on my scary white skin. Im looking forward to Saturday and more time in the sun!!

Seeing those pictures posted really brings back memories and not only to mention that we've all been through some 'thick and thin' together but I guess in so many ways, dragonboat has somewhat changed our lives one way or other :)

This is wonderful! Happy New Year Everyone! 2007, a great start to a great year.

To be honest, i used to be the one that want to delay training and start only after CNY but now, i cant seem to wait for training to start. Im getting fat and WHITE!!! I need the sun and some upper body action man .... ahhh now dont y'all think funny, I just mean I have only been running ....

So lets start hitting the gym and gearing up for our first training in 2 weeks' time. Cant wait to be in the same boat again!!
